Mishi with a skateboard and lots of jewellery......
I took these photos yesterday of my ever-growing bigger girl. She's so little. She's so big.
She jumped when I asked her to dress up and pose for a few photos with Sam's skate jewellery. She brushed her hair, tied her ribbon and washed the paint off her arms!
It seems my camera has done something wrong with the resolution, but I love that image too much to not share it with you. And I want to have it here, for my memory, and her memory, when we look at this blog in months/years to come. {And I ask myself yet again why the model agency never found any work for this little one, who we had hopes of making us a fortune!}.
These bracelets are now available at our little online shop, ellie beck handcrafted, (though all made by Sam!). The necklaces will be through their final testing and production soon, and will be ready in time for the Gallery Market in two weeks. I hope they'll be in the online shop before / soon after then.

Thank you so much all of you for your kind words and thoughts on my previous post. It's so good to have friends here who I can talk with, who will listen and share their advice and wisdom. I so want to continue this homeschooling journey, but know that I need to find the balance to make it work. Caged Tiger Mama is no good for anyone!

You're a big fat crocheter
You crochet night,
You crochet day,
You crochet rocks,
You crochet, hey!
There has been a lot of crochet going on. And a lot of running around. We're back at school well and truely now. School week is hard, but good as well.
Happy Love Day to you on this sweet Valentine's Day xxxx

Here's some lovely images from Ashey's sk8 (skate for an 8 year old) party last weekend. It was such a lovely day - the cloudy, rainy sky cleared up, the sun came out and everyone had a beautiful time. One of Ashey's friends kept announcing "I'm so happy" and "this is the best party ever" - that's an excellent thing to hear from an 8yr olds mouth, isn't it.
Look at all those kids on their boards or bikes or scooters.
And only my sister (ok, actually I'm sure lots of other people would do it too, but I loved noticing it anyway) would colour co-ordinate her fruit with colanders so well.
And finally - one of Sam on his board. He's still complaining about a sore body after having such a good skate. Think that means a) he's getting old or b) he needs to get out on his board more often or c) both a + b!
more proof that skateboarders are pretty cool
I have no idea who this is, without going and finding the link again. Of course, Sam would know, but he's not here to ask. Isn't that background so interesting. See that ramp bit there, the boarders built it especially. That's what skaters do - find a cool spot to skate and add their ramps and jumps and things. And then have fun.
I should find some images of Sam skating, to show you. He's pretty super cool too!
{Okay, now back to delaying tidying the kids room....... Before school pickup and the hurrying of afternoon into evening. It's cold again here today, the sun is hiding, and I don't feel like doing anything.}

This is some impromptu photos taken yesterday, of Sam's newest collection of skateboard jewellery. He's still working on the name for them, we'll announce that soon.
More words and pics over here.
Luckily we had a professional model on hand - who knows exactly how to tilt her head, and poke out her bum!!
We'll be selling these at the Southbank Young Designer's Market tomorrow. Come along and visit us.

Sam went downstairs to his little room, and measured and cut and then sanded. He kept running back upstairs to show me the newest piece. Each one beautiful and unique and fun. I'll show you tomorrow the buttons and little pieces he's been making. All from used skateboards. They have such colours and graphics.
He's been using a big sanding machine, of my dad's. It sounded like there was a steam train downstairs!
Sam with those skateboards that have been ridden** and jumped and snapped (with excitement and joy and sometimes fear).
Me with the fabric and material of everyday cottons or special day silks.
Please do come and visit us at the BrisStyle market, if you live round these parts. Otherwise, I'll be sure to have some photos here, or flickr or even on our website soon.
*I am sad, sorry, embarrassed to say that I have not made any bread this whole entire year. I could be a bit wrong, but I really do think that it's been all this calendar year that we have not kneaded or risen any bread in this house. I guess I should make one last loaf before we move out.
**Some were ridden by him, some by other skaters that he knows.
