Craft, textile-arts & traditional making
online courses & in-person workshops
Sharing my knowledge via online or in-person workshops feels like the most natural way of encouraging you to step deeper into your own creativity.
When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a teacher - and here I am doing it.. but in a different way than a traditional classroom.
My online courses are filmed in a way as if you’re sitting right there beside me in my studio, as if we’re sharing a cup of tea and learning together. I don’t have background music (no need when the birds of my forest make the best songs), nor do I have fancy flashy transitions.
My work is shared in a humble, honest way - simply for you to learn something, embrace a new skill, love a new craft and develop your own sense of who you are as a maker.
Come sit with me while we make, create, connect & find the joy in the imperfections of being a life-long student.

FAQs about craft courses
When does your course start? Do I need to watch it live at a certain time?
Most of my online courses are pre-recorded and available for immediate access. This means as soon as you purchase you’ll be able to log into your student portal and access the course straight away. No need to wait until a certain time.
Some of my courses (such as Unfurl & Bloom) I do run at specific times only during the year as this is a group course where I’m actively there with you week-to-week; you can join the waitlist here.
How do I access the course?
I have an online course platform with videos, PDFs and written content that is all housed on a site called Podia.
When you sign up you’ll be directed to create an account on my Podia site, and be able to log into your chosen course straight away. You can always email me with any problems joining or accessing your course. There’s also a login link at the footer of my website.
What do I need to be able to view / watch your courses?
Most of my courses are video-rich, which means you need a device that can stream videos, and internet access. I personally live in a rural setting with ‘country’ internet, and don’t have any problems watching. I’ve never had one student in 6-years have a problem.
Podia is an online website, so you simply log in with your own student details each time you want to watch the course.
What supplies or materials do I need to have?
My personal philosophy is to use what you have as best as you can combined with also using beautiful quality tools. It’s a balance of what works at each time. Check out each individual course for a suggested materials list, or reach out to me if you have specific questions that I haven’t answered.
I do not generally suggest you to run out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new craft, and in fact encourage you to test things out with limited supplies first.
Didn’t you used to use a different teaching site?
Yes, I did. When I first started teaching online courses over 6-years ago I used Teachable. Then a year ago I moved to Thinkific. I have recently shifted all my courses onto Podia; you can read more about why and the process here, if you’re curious.
Why are some of your courses free and some not?
Well, good question. And really, the answer isn’t so straight forward - but basically I try and share what I can how I can, so that more people can have access to the life-enriching and soul-nourishing work of craft and creative work.
Sometimes this means I simply chose to make a course free. But, this is my income and my full time work, so I need to charge for courses too.
I’m already a student, how do I access my courses?
All my online courses are housed on a platform called Podia, so you can log in here with your email and password. Ask for a password re-set if you need (and make sure to check your spam folder if it doesn’t show up in your inbox). Send me an email if you need any help with logging in or accessing your courses.
How long can I watch your courses for?
All my courses have lifetime access - this means basically until the internet stops working. If I ever decide to stop selling or sharing my courses online I will offer each student the option to download the videos.
You can watch the videos over and over again if you want. And you’ll also get automatic access to any new content I add to a course that you’re enrolled into.
What do I do if I want more help than what’s in the course?
Please send me an email - I can write back with tips, ideas, advice or thoughts about if you’re project isn’t going quite “right”. Sometimes I film little videos extra for people and add this to the course.
We all learn differently and I’m eager to help as best as I can to make sure you understand my style of teaching.
What’s the deal with ‘pay-what-you-can’?
I have offered this at various times over the past 5-years for a few different reasons. Mainly because I truly believe that craft and creativity helps deeply with mental health, and that many people can’t always access the resources that would benefit them so much. Many online courses are out of my financial reach, and I believe that craft should be and can be for everyone.
What I ask is that you be honest with the ‘pay-what-you-can’ options. This is my business that supports my family, it’s also my creative arts practice. If you’re able to pay full price then I deeply thank you, as that allows me to continue to offer lower priced or even free courses to those who aren’t in that position.
